Romania – Order of the Crown – Knight’s Cross (Civil Division)

Description: This is a beautiful example of the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Crown of Romania, civil division (no swords). Instituted by King Carol I in 1881, this order was awarded for significant merit in civil or state service.

This piece features a white- and red-enamelled Maltese cross with elegant filigree between the arms. At the center is a medallion with a Romanian royal crown and the motto “PRIN NOI ÎNȘINE” (By Ourselves). The reverse is marked with "10 MAIU" (10 May), alongside dates 1866, 1877, and 1881—key events in Romanian statehood.
